South of my house, construction was being done. There were trees, grass, brick structures, walkways. I no longer felt in a sea of houses among an empty desert, but nearby a variety of useful and fun locations like stores and parks. I find this brand of city planning so much more satisfying. I walked and flew in the rain as the fighting and bickering occurring at home became more than I could block out by getting upset at others or hiding in the dark with my head in my hands. I felt I could have traveled more fluidly with a pillow.
